An independent group,
an evidence-based practice — Aix-en-Provence

Since 2009, NORMAXIS has been structuring the entire environmental chain of real-estate projects. Three complementary subsidiaries, one shared requirement: that every assumption, every commitment, every decision can be documented, traced and challenged.

History

Seventeen years of methodical structuring.

Founded and led by Cédric Plantaz since 2009, the group has been built in successive stages along a coherent trajectory: laying the technical foundations, developing its own working tools, structuring a holding company, separating ISO 17065 roles, consolidating internal procedures. Each stage answered a concrete demand from the sector — never a branding move.

  1. The foundations

Cédric Plantaz enters the building sector with a postgraduate degree in civil engineering. Field experience as OPC, site engineer, technical inspector — then leadership of an HQE and BBC audit team at Cerqual. Contribution to introducing dynamic thermal simulation into summer comfort criteria.

  2. GREENLOGIC is founded

Foundation of GREENLOGIC environmental consulting in Aix-en-Provence. Launch of two R&D programmes that will become proprietary tools of the group: Efficarbone (construction-site carbon measurement) and Effinature (biodiversity integration in real-estate and development projects).

  3. Extension to technical disciplines

Progressive expansion to thermal engineering, then acoustics and MEP fluids. Early adoption of BIM. Cédric Plantaz becomes a lecturer at the École d'Ingénieurs du CESI. First national recognition for the Efficarbone and Effinature programmes.

  4. GREENLOGIC becomes NOVACERT

All technical and environmental disciplines are integrated under a single structure: consulting and certification, thermal/MEP/acoustics, ecology and diagnostics. The holding company ABNOVO is created to carry the whole group.

  5. IRICE is established

Creation of IRICE, a third-party certification body dedicated to biodiversity, legally separate from consulting and structured to ISO/IEC 17065. First stone of strict separation between consulting and certification.

  6. Growth of proprietary programmes

Under the continuous leadership of Cédric Plantaz, ramp-up of the Efficarbone (construction-site carbon) and Effinature (biodiversity) programmes, multiplication of pilot operations, consolidation of technical reference documents and expansion of the client portfolio.

  7. Organisational overhaul

Cédric Plantaz, who has led the group since 2009, initiates an internal overhaul: process audit, rewriting of documentary procedures, reinforcement of technical teams, clarification of business perimeters. The goal: build an organisation that no longer depends on isolated individuals but on a shared discipline.

  8. ARKORIS is born

Group identity overhaul. NOVACERT becomes ARKEMEP (thermal, MEP, acoustics engineering). NOVATEC becomes ARKENOR (environmental consulting, ecology, measurements). IRICE consolidates its position as an independent certification body. The holding company ABNOVO is renamed ARKORIS.

  9. ARKORIS becomes NORMAXIS

Final step of the repositioning: the holding company takes the name NORMAXIS. A word that layers five readings — the norm that binds, the north that orients, Norma that aligns (constellation catalogued by Lacaille in 1752), max that frames the threshold, the axis that holds the load. The tagline Building the reference. accompanies the identity.

Throughout these stages, the group has built its own working tools. Effinature — the biodiversity certification framework for real-estate and development operations — is today delivered by IRICE under ISO/IEC 17065. BPS (Biodiversity Performance Score), a 70+ criteria biodiversity diagnostic method covering three phases (state, management, operation), feeds ESRS E4, SFDR and EU Taxonomy reporting. Efficarbone measures and scores the carbon emissions of construction sites. These three tools did not exist before the group — they set it apart from a simple aggregation of service providers.

Governance of impartiality

Strict separation between consulting, engineering and certification.

Independence is not an editorial posture — it is an operational requirement set out in ISO/IEC 17065, the standard governing the certification of products, processes and services. IRICE, the group's certification subsidiary, operates under this standard.

The standard requires that no certification decision can be influenced by commercial or operational interests. To meet this, IRICE relies on:

  • An impartiality committee with three colleges — external sector experts, client representatives, internal staff — overseeing certification processes and arbitrating situations at risk of conflicts of interest.
  • Legal and documentary separation between ARKENOR (consulting) and IRICE (third-party certification). The same group party cannot both advise and certify the same project.
  • Methodological transparency: published frameworks, accessible procedures, full traceability of data and decisions.

This architecture enables investors, local authorities and sustainability auditors to rely on IRICE attestations as court-admissible evidence — a condition now required by EU Directive 2024/825 on environmental claims and by AMF and ACPR doctrines on sustainability reporting.

Our values

A culture of evidence, shared at every level.

A culture of evidence

Every assumption, every commitment, every deliverable is documented and traceable. Evidence is the condition for the decision — not an alibi after the fact.

Cross-discipline cooperation

Thermal engineers, acousticians, consultants, ecologists, auditors: teams work together, without silos, so that design, control and certification converge into coherent deliverables.

Operational transparency

Documented working methods, auditable deliverables, strict separation of ISO 17065 roles between ARKENOR (consulting) and IRICE (certification). No ambiguity on who does what.

Continuous improvement

Sustained regulatory watch (RE2020, BACS decree, Directive 2024/825, CSRD E4), ongoing training, updating of reference documents. Our methods evolve with sector requirements.

NORMAXIS group head office — Espace Wagner Building A2, 10 rue du Lieutenant Parayre, Aix-en-Provence. Glass façade with Mediterranean garden and vegetation.
Espace Wagner — Building A2, Aix-en-Provence. Single site for the three NORMAXIS subsidiaries.

Single site

Aix-en-Provence, in the heart of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

The three NORMAXIS subsidiaries are co-located at 10 rue du Lieutenant Parayre, Espace Wagner Building A2, 13290 Aix-en-Provence, France. This single site supports operational coordination between teams while preserving the legal and documentary separation between ARKENOR (consulting) and IRICE (certification).

Our teams operate across three South-West France regions — Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Occitania and New Aquitaine — with a 48-72 h on-site mobilisation window from Aix.
